January 2021
Another year gone, another year begins. This year didn't start too badly and I decided to give "Bertie" a good clean to ensure he was ready for the year ahead. It took me just under 2 hours to wash and leather down the bug. Not bad when you aren't rushing the job. The weather was a little cold but not enough to stop me from completing the job in hand. Enjoy the photos.
February 2021
This month I have Cake, made from the Beetle Mould I picked up a few years earlier. It certainly makes making cake a lot easier.
August 2021
The saturday before the SCS show was a glorious day, the sun was out and it was quite a warm day. I started the day by taking a few photos of Bertie whilst he basked in the morning sun. I put the sunshade up in the windscreen to help keep the heat out. I had to give Bertie a quick wipe down with a cloth to remove any dust and he stayed quite clean throughout the day. I had a few complimentary comments about Bertie from passers by, mainly about how clean he is and the condition. A few commented that they or their parents had a Beetle when they were younger.
August 2021
It was the first show of the year for SCS with their revised calendar, it was held at their spiritual home of Worthing Rugby Club. After the lockdown it was a pleasant experience to get out and about and meet people from the club you hadn't seen for a while. It was a lovely day, the sun was out and many cars of different types and ages turn out to support the club.
September 2021
It was the second and last show of the year for SCS with their revised calendar, it was held at Borde Hill Gardens. I didn't take too many photos of Bertie today. The front lawn was well packed, the most cas I have ever seen at Borde Hill Gardens and a wonderful turn out for their Charity Show. After the lockdown it was a pleasant experience to get out and about and meet people from the club you hadn't seen for a while.
December 2021
I took Bertie to work for the last time this year. It may have been a cold morning but I stil enjoy driving Bertie whatever the weather. These photos were taken firts thing in the morning upon arrival. You just can't beat a classic car!
