Well, what can we say about 2020, the year everything stopped due to Covid. As you can imagine I didn't go to any shows this year as most were cancelled. I heard a few did happen towards the end of the year but I didn't feel it was worth attending.
March 2020
I took a photo of my speedometer so I had a reference of how many miles\kilometers my Bug had covered. Getting closer to the magic 100,000 km (60,000 miles).
April 2020
This month I gave the Bug a good clean and whilst the sun was out I thought it wise to take a few photo's. It still scrubs up well for 22 years old.
May 2020
With Lockdown continuing this month I thought it would be a good idea to clean the underside of the Bug and apply a layer of Clear WaxOyl. The underside wasn't as dirty as I had expected. Having a pit in the garage makes it a lot easier to get to the underside without having to jack it up a corner at a time. It took a couple of hours but was well worh it, a good job well done.
July 2020
I was allowed back to work and started to use the Beetle again. Unfortunately on the way home the engine decided to start making a loud high pitched screaming noise. I eventually worked out it was the Alternator. A quick trip to the garage, they adjusted it and all was back to normal.
December 2020
For Christmas this year I was given a little model Beetle to build, it came with it's own engine recording, to activate you press the button and you hear the engine start and rev a little before being switched off. I was also given a model Volkswagen Beetle engine kit to build, this was an advance kit to build. Once completed and with Batteries again you hear the engine start, rev and switched off but you also get the alternator and fan belt rotating along with a pretend spark for each of the four plugs. It took a few hours but was well worth it.
