The first show of the year for SCS held at Chichester College

The second show of the year for SCS held at Newhaven Fort. Got a couple of good photos of the three beetles together, a Jeans, my late Mexican and my Mums new Beetle.

The very next day I took Gertie to work as I tend to do. In the afternoon I had a phone call asking me to pop into the office, I was told that my Beetle had been involved in a accident, I was a little confused but went down to see. I could clearly see from a distance that this was serious. Apparently the on-site builders had had a telehandler collected and the driver drove round the site (they had been told not to) and the top caught several trees and they fell down on top of Gertie and caused severe damage. As you can see from the photos there was a lot of damage sustained by Gertie. After a a few weeks and two trips back to the restorers Gertie was fixed and ready to roll again. Unfortunately Gertie did miss the last show of the year at Chichester.
